Work activities are organised for the mornings and in the afternoons meetings are planned to discuss the Bible as well as the opportunity of meeting with some of the brothers and sisters of the community.

In the speech on the mountain, a speech given by Jesus for the people of the new Alliance, we listened to some words dealing with prayer, fasting and sharing. It’s significant that Jesus confirms the necessity of the prayer, the habit of fasting practiced within Judaism and the kindness of sharing goods with poor people.

In my opinion there is a text in the Gospel that well expresses the situation of many of today’s young people; that’s the text of the “young rich man” (Mt 19,16-22). It shows a young man in search, who asks himself about the meaning of life, who longs for the fullness of life and whose faith brings him to feel the insufficiency of the present time: “What good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?” (Mt 19, 16).
Message to young people
First and last alike, receive your reward. For the Lord is gracious and receives the last no less than the first
Meeting Christ and adhering to him implies fractures and cuts: “No one can serve two masters... You can’t serve both God and Mammon.” (Mt 6:24).

The Letter to Titus urges young people to think (Titus 2:6), to reflect so as to acquire wisdom and discernment. Certainly thinking, paying attention to our heart’s movements and thoughts that invade our mind, rereading the whole day at night, is not easy.
“I write to you, young men, because you are strong and the Word of God remains in you, and you have conquered the evil one.” (1 Jn 2,14). The strength and the struggle against evil: according to the apostle John this is what marks young people, this is what a young man is invited to.
